As of right now, the Rocketboom homepage displays an "ANNOUNCEMENT" full of misinformation. I have cleared up the misinformation in red.

Amanda Congdon has decided to move to L.A. to pursue opportunities that have arisen for her in Hollywood.

Amanda Congdon is not moving to L.A. She was planning on moving to L.A. whilst working with Rocketboom, but now, since she is out of work, she cannot go. Andrew knows this yet continues to claim Amanda is "off to Hollywood." Amanda now lives with her parents in CT.

We wanted to meet her demands to move production out to L.A., however, we are a small company and have not been able to figure out a way to make it work, financially and in many other ways at this time. While we continue to remain with open arms, Amanda has in fact quit and left Rocketboom. So sadly, we bid Amanda adieu and wish her all the best.

Amanda did not quit Rocketboom, she refused to accept Andrew Barons final proposal to reduce her share in the company, and become only, "the face" of Rocketboom. Very old media of him. In a meeting, Andrew Baron could produce no reason that Amanda Congdon could not move to L.A. other than, "I just don't want it." Amanda has in fact not left Rocketboom, but has been kept, by Andrew Baron, from Rocketboom and its viewers.

Rocketboom goes on.

Andrew Baron, the founder and creator of Rocketboom, will stay with the company in New York and will continue to produce and direct the show. We are in the daunting process of recruiting a replacement for Amanda.

While Amanda will be sorely missed, we have big plans for Rocketboom and are determined to make the show better than ever.

After Field Week and a week on hiatus, we know that you are hungry for the news! Rocketboom will be back with a news episode and an interim host this MONDAY, JULY 10.

this totally blows. as it was, whenever Amanda turned things over to a "field correspondent" for an episode I stopped the download. no Amanda=no rocketboom, delete it's bookmark, thanks for the memories.

Thanks for the redlining, Mario.

Although it's sad to see rocketboom implode, this post will help people to see where all the pieces fall. And I'm glad to see that Amanda's is not alone in her view of the events.

thanks for the clarification, Mario. Any idea why Andrew is behaving like such a prick?

Amanda will surely end up on the sunny side of all this. She couldn't help but, being such a delightfully engaging on-cam presence. She will be snapped-up in no time. As they say in the pageant biz: the cream always rises to the top.

And she's always welcome on TrueGritz! Heck, without Amanda's inspiration, there'd be no TrueGritz at all.

The world is watching, Amanda. You're blazing a big-ass media trail. (No, it is my ass that's the big one!) And cheering you on. Don't let a few unwashed geeks get you down.

Jeese Louise, you didn't get kicked of NBC,

Get up and get back on it, Amanda. Pull up a MacBook, snag a URL and get back to work! We'll find you. Give it a sassier name and do more field work.

What the fuck is Baron thinking?!
Doesn't he realize that he's sinking his own goddamn ship by firing Amanda?!

He's acting like a stubborn brat.
What an idiot.

Well, I still can't believe it! Rocketboom without Amanda?? NO WAY!!!
They have to change the name and the stories, because it's not the same anymore.
The new one maybe look like Amanda (well, perhaps a little) but she can't replace her- never...
I'm sad, but I know that you and Amanda will find the right way and do another indpendent and at the same time great project!!
Don't give up!

I've seen andrew baron do this before. He gets this tone of voice that is few octives higher than his already tinny twang and tries to use vocabulary just out of his reach to explain why it's everyone elses fault but his.

If he can't be loved by everyone all the time for what he is and does then he loses it and throws a fit.

Kudos to Amanda for surviving the ordeal and still doing her thing.
